18.1 Grice’s Maxims
Many of the concepts we’ll discussed were already nicely described in Grice’s Maxims
Quantity be as informative as possible, give as much information as needed, and no more.
Quality be truthful, do not give false or unsupported information.
Relation be relevant, make statements pertinent to the discussion.
Manner be as clear, as concise, and as structured as possible, avoid obscurity and ambiguity.
18.2 The 7 Cs
In terms of scientific writing, I’ve arranged the material into the seven Cs:
